Snow greeted us this morning -- big, wet flakes that immediately dissolved into rain on the ground. Nevertheless, we forged into Macka Park to catch snowflakes, throw some iceballs and get cold enough to fix hot chocolate at home. The snow is supposed to persist through the weekend, then Istanbul will warm into the 50s. But snow over the Bosphorus (and thunder!) is something none of us will forget...

Wow! Amazing! and it was in the upper 70s and gorgeous weather in Durham today (should be much cooler and rainier tomorrow). I'm still hoping we get some snow this year. Ever hopeful, new and purple snow boots for Celie were recently purchased.

We missed you lots on Halloween... a few pictures are on our blog MADKapAdventures.blogspot.com

Celie and Alex were thinking of baby sitters they like and asked if Frances could babysit for them soon... January seems like a long time away :)
Hugs,
Marian

It's great to see Macka Park (official name is democracy park) pictures after many years...
Actually, I spent quite some time next to it, at the Technical Uni. campus, and used to take the cable-car on my way to Taksim :)
Enjoy Istanbul...
